Clean and Lean Pregnancy Guide

I'm starting this post with a disclaimer: the hottie in this pic is my friend Christiane. Her husband, celebrity trainer James Duigan is also a great friend and I'm very proud of everything they do.

James has developed the Clean and Lean diet. In a world of cluttered and confusing diet messages, it is refreshingly simple. He says the basic thing is to cut out the C.R.A.P. (caffeine, refined sugars, alcohol and processed foods).  James’ honest and uplifting books have won the praise of A-listers and health experts alike. He trains THE BODY (aka Elle Macpherson) and Victoria's Secret Angel, Rosie Huntington-Whitley. Hello!?! Anyone who can keep those babes in that kind of shape knows a thing or ten.

So back to the Clean and Lean books (which are a whole series and if you dont have them, I recommend them highly). James has now launched the Clean and Lean Pregnancy Guide. It's the ultimate survival kit for mums to be. The wellness warrior (who is father to suuuuper cute 20 month old Charlotte and has just welcomed baby Leo last week) has packed his book with everything you need, whatever stage of pregnancy you’re in.

If you’re hoping to conceive, there’s a detailed guide on fertility-boosting yoga poses and stress-reducing foods. If you’re already pregnant (congrats!) there are tonnes of nourishing recipes and safe exercise routines, as well as natural advice for battling morning sickness (essential!). And, of course, there’s the post-baby section, which deals with getting enough sleep, recovering lost energy and gently yet effectively getting back in shape.

Plus, there are contributions from many of James’ celebrity clients and friends, including Christy Turlington, Lara Stone, Teresa Palmer, Holly Valance, Megan Gale and… me! I shared my struggles of being a new mum with cancer, as well as my newfound perspective on health and living life to the fullest (check it out on page 40).

But my favourite thing about James’ new book is his realistic approach - he knows that, especially when you’re pregnant or a new mum, making healthy choices 24/7 is impossible. Instead, his motto is simply, “Be kind to yourself”… and it’s okay to have a treat once in a while!

You can buy a copy of James Duigan’s Clean and Lean Pregnancy Guide here! We love you James & Christiane!!
