HOT ROLLED HAIR

It’s been a while since we last saw thick, luscious, glamazon locks appear in the celebrity look book.  But this year we’re seeing a major comeback!  That’s right, you can leave those dead straight strands and messy waves in 2014 because the bombshell look is back!  We’re talking full on, old-school Hollywood glamour but with a modern twist.

Before you go reaching for the GHD, remember old school locks call for old school techniques! (I think you know where I’m going with this)

Hot rollers have been making their way back into the hands of supermodels and celebrity stylists alike as a means of getting those voluptuous, full-bodied curls and lush waves that everyone is after.  Here’s how to master the technique…

1.     Prep Your Hair

To begin with your hair should be smooth, clean and dry (make sure you give it a good brush!)  You’ll then need to create a bit of texture and volume with a bit of good quality mousse and give it a spritz with some heat protection spray.

2.     Split it Sideways

Centre parts are great for day-to-day wear, but we recommend going for a deep side part if you want to amp up the glamour-factor.  Then just section the hair evenly around your head.

3.     Start Up Top

Many of us make the mistake of rolling from the bottom up.  This creates a big, heavy curl at the bottom and ruins the look.  Instead, hold the curler vertically and place it a few inches down from the top of the section (near the centre)  and wrap the hair around it to the right.  Then secure it to your head with a clip and repeat the process with the rest of your hair!

4.     Let It Set

Leave the curlers in your hair until they’ve completely cooled down.  Next, take out the clips and carefully slide the rollers out of the curls.

5.     Final Touches

Lightly spray some texturising mist through the curls and gently brush the hair back and forth.  Finish with a bit of hairspray to hold everything in place and you’re ready to go! If you want a slightly less 'done' look, just muss it up with your fingers to separate the curls for a relaxed take on glam.
