Ahhh, sleep. If you ask any expert in any health field, they will tell you that getting quality sleep is the key to good mental and physical wellbeing (including keeping the kilos off!) but to so many of us, it’s a foreign concept.
We know so many people struggle to get the recommended amount of shuteye each night, which is why we’ll try anything for a decent night’s sleep. Well, we have a little trick up our sleeve that will guarantee you get a little more out of your zzzz’s in each night.
It’s a sleep calculator app (we love using the one called Sleep Timer), and it tells you what time you should go to bed depending on what time you have to wake up. It’s based on your sleep patterns so you don’t wake up in the middle of your deepest slumber; rather, you’re waking up when you’re naturally sleeping a little lighter. It tells us that if we want to wake up at 6:30am, we need to go to sleep at 9:15pm or 10:45pm, for example. Or if you want to go to sleep at a certain time, it will tell you the best time to set an alarm. It even takes into consideration that it takes the average person 14 minutes to get to sleep. Who knew? We didn’t! But one of the best features of Sleep Timer is that it has a built in alarm so you don’t have to set one yourself. Yippeee, this app takes all the guesswork out of getting a much-needed sleep.
