1) DETOX + CONTOUR BODY GUA SHA

This Body Gua Sha helps reduce knots within the fascia and has also been shown to help reduce cellulite, as cellulite isn’t fatty tissue, but rather unhealthy fascia. By increasing circulation, it delivers nutrients and oxygen to tissues, which can also assist with collagen stimulation – meaning better skin health!

2) SKIN DETOX BODY BRUSH

The Skin Detox Body Brush specifically helps remove dead skin cells, improve circulation, encourage lymphatic drainage, and give your skin the refresh it’s been waiting for. Use The Skin Detox Body Brush right before your shower for silky soft skin to fall in love with.

THE SCIENCE

Body Gua Sha – Anti-Inflammation, Pain Relief & Improved Mobility

A 2017 study showed that using a Gua Sha can provide long-lasting anti-inflammatory effects, pain relief and improved mobility. In regards to popular heat pack therapy for the relief of pain (particularly lower back pain), this study showed Gua Sha use to be equally as effective  and potentially longer-lasting than hot pack therapy. Beyond this, the Gua Sha also helped improve flexibility.

EXTRA INFO

My skin is going red upon use of the Body Gua Sha – is this normal?

Some reddening of the skin whilst using your Body Gua Sha is normal, this is just it doing its work to increase circulation. The more blood flow to an area, the more oxygen, nutrients and collagen there is. This is a good thing. However, using the Body Gua Sha shouldn’t be painful. You can adjust the pressure you use if too much reddening occurs.

Can everyone use the Body Gua Sha?

We don’t recommend you use a Body Gua Sha when you have any type of blood disorder or medical condition affecting the skin or veins, or you’re on blood-thinning medication. If in doubt we recommend you check with your doctor or healthcare professional to see if this product is right for you.

What is lymphatic drainage – and how does it help detox the body?

Your lymphatic system runs throughout the body, almost parallel to your circulatory system (aka your blood vessels). However, unlike the circulatory system it doesn't have a central pump (being your heart) to keep things moving. Instead, your lymphatic system relies on muscle contractions as it’s a one-way system. Each day 3L of fluid is absorbed into your lymph vessels, and lymphatic drainage helps move this. Without a working lymphatic system, your body would swell with toxins, waste, and fluid. This is where this form of lymphatic massage using a Body Gua Sha becomes so important for detoxification.

How often should you use the Body Gua Sha?

You can use the Body Gua Sha daily, generally once a day in the evening. Otherwise aiming for at least 3-5 times a week is recommended.

What’s the difference between the Detox + Contour Body Gua Sha and the Rose Quartz Gua Sha?

The Body Gua Sha is larger, with a different shape and edges to the Rose Quartz Gua Sha, and is specifically shaped for use on the body. Its smooth ridged edges will get deep into the fascia to allow for best lymphatic drainage results. The Rose Quartz Gua Sha is smaller, designed specifically for use on the face with a different curvature and design. We recommend using both on a regular basis for best results.

How often should I dry body brush?

You can dry body brush daily. Alternatively, 2-3 times a week minimum is recommended for best results.

Why should I dry brush my skin before a shower?

Dry brushing before a shower is typically recommended as it is a great exfoliant, so showering afterward helps wash away any dead skin cells.

What is lymphatic drainage, and how does dry body brushing help?

Lymphatic drainage refers to a type of massage that encourages the movement of lymph throughout the body, therefore aiding your natural detoxification processes. Dry body brushing aids lymphatic drainage by using specific massage techniques, with the added benefit of exfoliating the skin and improving overall circulation and skin renewal.
